Successfully conducted a session on” Empowering Digital Citizenship: A Session on Internet and Cyber Security” at Capital Hill Sec. School.

We are thrilled to share the details of our recent successful session on “The Internet and Cyber Security” at Capital Hill Secondary School, Soalteemode, Kathmandu. As a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting digital literacy and cyber safety, Techniteracy was eager to impart valuable knowledge to the young minds at the school.

The session commenced with Mr. Shisir Banskota, one of the co-founders of Techniteracy, introducing our organization’s mission and vision. We emphasized our commitment to empowering individuals with essential skills to navigate the digital landscape confidently.

Next, Mr. Dharma Tamang, another co-founder, took the stage to discuss the interconnection between computers and the fundamental mechanism of the Internet. It was fascinating to witness the students’ engagement as they discovered the interconnected web that spans the globe.

Following this insightful introduction, Mr. Subhanjan Baral, another co-founder, introduced the critical topic of Cyber Security. He shed light on prevalent cyber crimes, common cyber threats, and the significance of cyber awareness. Through real-world examples, we aimed to equip the students with the knowledge to recognize potential risks.

As the session approached its conclusion, Mr. Shisir Banskota returned to share practical tips on how to stay safe online and best practices to avoid falling victim to cyber crimes. Our primary goal was to empower the students with essential tools to safeguard themselves in the digital realm.

An interactive Q&A session followed, and we were thrilled to see the students actively participating, sharing their thoughts, and seeking clarification on various aspects of cyber safety. The engagement demonstrated their enthusiasm and willingness to learn, reaffirming the importance of such sessions.

We extend our gratitude to the Capital Hill Secondary School for welcoming us and providing this opportunity to engage with their students. We were humbled by the appreciation expressed by the school’s Principal at the end of the session.

At Techniteracy, we firmly believe that knowledge is power. By equipping young minds with the understanding of cyber security, we empower them to navigate the digital world responsibly.

As we continue our journey, we look forward to conducting more sessions and reaching out to more schools to promote digital safety and literacy.
